Recreation in Medina County

Montville Township is located in the middle of Medina County.  The county offers a lot for recreation.

Medina County Park District

The Medina County Parks District website lists 28 parks in the county, all within a short drive from Montville Township.  Most contain shelters - many of them can be reserved for group outings.  Many of the parks provide hiking trails and bike paths for the more energetic. Some are sanctuaries where the area's wildlife can be observed in the natural habitat.  (Click on the map to view the website.

Cleveland Metro Parks

ClevelandMetroParks_logo_150w.jpgThe Cleveland Metro Parks system surrounds the Cleveland-Akron area in a semi-circle running from the west lakeshore to the east.  Montville Township is blessed to be on the southwest edge of the string of parks.  There are too many parks and features to list here.  Visit the Cleveland Metro Parks website to get a better idea of what is offered. 


Northeast Ohio State Parks

There are 19 State Parks in Northeast Ohio. Most of them are within an hour's drive of Montville Township, perfect for day-trips.  For a relaxing weekend or longer, serveral of the State Parks have cottages/cabins and most have camping.
